In 1996 I was the kicker on my high school football team, at a time you didn’t really hear about girls doing that. Jump ahead 20 years to 2016 and I was helping my women’s team win a football championship. I love seeing how much the sport has grown for women and excited to see the increasing opportunities available to girls and women of all ages to play the game we love.
I’ve been an athlete my entire life and enjoy watching almost all sports. I went to college on a Division I soccer scholarship with dreams of becoming a sports broadcaster. Even though my career path lead me to the non-profit education world instead of a TV station, my passion for playing and following sports has never faded.
I’m excited to start my second season with the Utah Falconz. The team has become a family to me and I am blessed to know some of the most amazing women around. My personal motivation for playing is to fight back against Multiple Sclerosis. I don’t know if or when this disease might take my mobility, so I am going to take advantage of every opportunity to continue moving. Right now football is stronger than MS and gives me the hope to keep going.
